The 10 Doors Gaming Society first came together in 2004. It consisted of 7 close friends who had been playing 2nd Ed D&D for many, many years in various configurations of gaming groups. As life became more and more complicated for all of us (We got married, had kids, got new jobs and/or promotions) we found it harder and harder to get together and play our beloved rpg.

Finally, we came up with the idea of The 10 Doors gaming Society and an agreement to put aside one full Saturday about every six weeks to play. We started by renting a hotel conference room. After about a year, we moved into a game store that opened up, run by a friend of ours. So for the next year or two, we played at the Badgers Den in Everett, WA.

As time went on, the owners of the Badgers Den decided to sell the business and just keep an internet presence ( It's still there by the way, if you are interested ).

One of members, David Lewis, had been working for the Badgers Den owners since it opened so he took the plunge and bought them out, moving the business a few miles south and renaming it " Avatar Gaming and Gifts". For the next few years this became the official home to gamers from all over as well as The 10 Doors.

Sadly, in 2008, Avatar closed its doors for the last time. Once again, we were homeless ( in a gaming sense at least ).

Fortunately, several of our members own large enough homes that we still meet about evgery 6 weeks or so, moving between several of our members homes.

Over the past 5+ years we have lost one of our founding members and gained at least 2 new members. The first, Lloyd,  an old friend who spent a few years away and came back to join us as we began our 4th year and 2nd campaign. Our 2nd new member is a young man who became a regular with us while still at Avatar and now even with college and girls and all manner of distractions manages to make most of our meets.  His given name is David but as we already had one of those, he has been dubbed 'Goldfish'.

Early this year we even began indoctrinating a very young man, neighbor of one of our founding members. Though he is not a regular member of the 10 Doors, we feel we have officially addicted him and it is only a matter of time before we see him at our table.

It should be noted that as true purists to the game of Advanced Dungeons and Dragons, we cling stubbornly to the 2nd Edition rules and books. While we have dallied with 3rd Edition and 3.5, we find it largely a waste of our time ( though there are supporters of the newer editions, even amongst we diehards ).

Above, I have put pictures of those I call our "Triumverate of Evil...well, at least Triumverate of Naughty. Myself, My wife Roxy and David have been friends for 20 years (I have known David many years prior). He followed me to WA state, lived with us durring our first two years of marriage. We have been through it all with him, including a Medieval costumed wedding for he and his bride 10 years ago.

Below, I am putting up images from our latest 10 Doors gathering. Steve (you will see him in the Pics) a founding member of the 10 Doors just bought a lovely new home, so of course he has invited us over to help christen it. I have tried to set the photo's up to give some semblance of the feel of a day of gaming with us.

At the end of the day, we are tired but we have shared time with good friends. I love all of these folks and personally, I believe they are some of the best role-playing gamers I have ever had the pleasure of knowing

I would like to take a moment and thank our official photographer of the 10 doors, Melody "Mel" Melton. She's provided the majority of the photographs and always provides terric work for us when asked. Thanks Mel.
